Joy of Sex was a band from Cardiff, UK, and this was our blog.

We changed our name to TOTEM TERRORS and pretty much carried on as normal.

Come and say hello.

We have another gig coming up, and it’s an I Blame The Parents records night, them being the fine people (or person) who put out our split-single not so long back.

We’ll be playing with these fine gentlemen:

And these fine gentlemen:

It’s at Buffalo Bar Cardiff, our home-away-from-home (by which I mean venue-in-our-hometown-we-play-more-than-anywhere-else-for-no-apparent-reason), it’s on Friday and it’s a few quid on the door and there’ll be all sorts of prizes you can win (albums and singles and stuff) simply by handing some money to the bearded guy on the other side of the merch stand.

Do we have a date or what?

Good people of the internet, we have some news. The first shows of the year are coming soon! They’ll be local mostly because our amazing old reliable bandwagon broke down before Xmas and is still out of commission. It’s been and continues to be a saga; maybe we’ll write a song about it someday. In the meantime, join us as we shake off some rust in April:

On the 13th at Gwdihw - this one’s a charity event, for the Zimbabwe National Emergency charity (ZANE). It’s part of an art exhibition about the role of video and sound in contemporary art practice which will be held at the Atrium in Cardiff on the weekend following the gig (17th-18th).

On the 30th at The Promised Land - this one is for local promoters/drinkers Pint of 45

There may or may not be new material, new band members, new haircuts and new shoes at these shows.

Also, if anyone out there is handy with fixing gearboxes, do get in touch. We’ll give you free stuff. And pay you actual money for your time and work.

Our gig with Minuscule Hey was cancelled, partly on account of Laurent having broken his finger, but it’s ok because we’re going to do it again in April instead. So it’s really a minuscule delay (sorry. I’m not in the mood for writing anything right now so weak punning is all you’re having).
